Anne Savage: Pioneering DJ, Producer, and Noise Safety Advocate
Anne Savage has been a powerhouse in the global dance music scene for over 25 years. A true trailblazer from the UK, her journey began at illegal raves during the early 90s' free party movement. From her first residency at Angels in Burnley, where she performed alongside Carl Cox and Joey Beltram, to the legendary ARK events with Sasha, Tony De Vit, and Laurent Garnier, Anne quickly cemented her status as a DJ who knows how to captivate a crowd.
Renowned for her technical skill and musical versatility, Anne’s DJ sets have span across genres, from hard dance to trance, techno, and breakbeat. With over 100 releases on leading labels like Tidy, Nukleuz, Riot, Traffic, and Good Greef, she has become a legend in the hard dance genre. Her Tidy Girls EP is one of the best-selling hard house records of all time, with tracks and chart-topping mixes for Tidy, Euphoria, and Ministry of Sound, with a new Tidy Girls EP set for release in November 2024.
Anne has played at some of the world’s most iconic events, including the Miami Winter Music Conference, ULTRA in the US, Defcon1 and Dance Valley in the Netherlands, and UK festivals like Glastonbury, Beat-Herder, Secret Garden Party, and Creamfields. She has also left an indelible mark on Ibiza's nightlife, with performances at legendary venues such as Privilege, Space, and Amnesia. In 2024, Anne is set to perform at Xstatic Festival in Ibiza and Captured Festival in the upcoming dance music destination, Malta.
Based in Aberdeen, Anne's career takes her across the globe, with tours in North America, Australia, Asia, South Africa, and Europe. Her dynamic presence has earned her consecutive spots in DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs and recognition in The Independent's Top 10 UK DJs. Her talent extends beyond the decks—Anne has presented for BBC, MTV Europe, MTV Dance, Rapture, and Sky One, and hosted her own dance show on Ministry of Sound Radio.
Beyond music, Anne is also a passionate motorbike racer, competing in the Supermoto Championship and organizing the Scottish Supermoto Championship. Her love for high-octane sports adds another dimension to her dynamic persona, showcasing her fearless spirit both on and off the stage.
Anne is also a vocal advocate for noise safety in the music industry, working with the Plug’Em initiative to raise awareness about tinnitus prevention. Currently studying for a Doctorate in Noise Safety in the Music Industry, she continues to break barriers and inspire future generations with her relentless energy and commitment to both her craft and her community.
